This is how it all started…

One Sunday afternoon back in 2012, I wandered into a local home brew supplies store, just looking to pick up ingredients for a traditional English IPA. A few chats with the friendly staff later, and I’d lucked into a warehouse tour—surrounded by bags of malt, grains, and hops.

As we wandered among the sacks and aromas, talk turned to websites. I mentioned my background in building directory and review sites and my itch to create one of my own, though I wasn’t sure of the focus. It had to be something I genuinely loved if it was going to be worth the effort.

Standing there, the answer couldn’t have been clearer (though I’ll admit, it took someone else saying it first): “Why not a website with reviews of Australian breweries?” The lightbulb went off! I rushed home, registered www.FindaBrewery.com.au, brewed up that IPA, and got straight to coding. 😉

Fast forward ten years, and here we are, covering around 100 breweries across Australia. I hope you enjoy our brewery reviews and home brewing insights as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it all together. Drop a comment, or reach out through our contact page—I’d love to hear from you. Cheers! 🍻
